Keeping Social Security in the Loop

It’s important to maintain good relationships with everyone you come in contact with, including public agencies such as Social Security and MassHealth. Being professional and responsible will benefit you in the long run. In other words, it’s always in your best interest to communicate well with Social Security and be responsive to their requests.

There are two main reasons for maintaining good relationships with public agencies:

  1. To get the full amount of benefits you’re entitled to
  2. So you don’t burn bridges in the event you ever need support again

This section of Young Health Center will review the important things Social Security requires you to do while receiving benefits, including reporting your earnings from work.  Eventually you may start earning enough money so you don’t need Social Security any more.  If you communicate well with them and report all you’re required to, you will end your relationship with them on a good note.
